Power Yoga

 

Harriet is a quliafied Hot Power Yoga Teacher, completing a 200RYT Yoga Alliance course. Harriet offers classes in both hot and traditional studios.  Here she encourages you to leave the world behind for 60 minutes and connect back to yourself.

​What is Power Yoga? 

 

Power Yoga has derived from Ashtanga yoga. The practise is very similar to that of a Vinyasa class which focuses on 'flowing' between each yoga pose. The dynamic practise or POWER of the class helps to build heat in the body, get your heart pumping, tone, sculpt and stretch you. 

 

Aiming to increase stamina, aid in weightloss and build muscle tone the class is challenging but as the saying goes 'mind over matter'. Harriet is also there to encourage you to reach your full potential. 

 

You may be thinking 'POWER' I can't do that... YES you can, you can do more than you think.. if you just believe! 

What do I need to bring?
 

It goes without saying you need to bring yourself, but you will be suprised as half the battle is getting through the class doors.  Workout clothes you are prepared to get hot in. Nothing too loose fitting but also clothes that will not restrict your full range of movement. 

 

A yoga mat if you have one, but if you dont you can hire one for £2. 

 

Other items you may need to bring a small towel; a bottle of water or coconut water. Make sure you keep yourself hydrated in class. 

What if I am new?

 

Not to worry and first of all WELL DONE for taking the first step. All classes are welcome to beginners and although you may feel daunted at the first class, come along, embrace the practice and have FUN. You will feel  energised and empowered afterwards. 

 

Each class is about listening to YOUR body, we are all different and what works for one person may not for another.  There are lots of variations on hand to help you find what works for you! And Harriet will be there to guide you through your experience. 

 

And hey... it's only yoga, come along and enjoy some 'you' time for 90 minutes!
