So the new year has sprung and some of you may think... lets try a new class... YOGA ANYONE?
Well if you are new to yoga well done. You are about to embark on an amazing journey! (be sure to check out my page.... I teach yoga). With all the excitement of taking a new class I find choosing what I will wear to class gives me the added motivation to actually go (YES I am a fashion loving yogi). I find wearing bright colours lifts my mood, makes me feel good and adds some brightness to dull January!
There are of course yoga staples which are the basics for any aspiring yogi... but who says they have to be black!
Have a sneak peak at my basics but with some style and colour.

(Stripe top H&M, purple crop top Lululemon, white vest New Look, leggings Lululemon)
Yoga Staples
Leggings (cropped or long) or Tracki bums (tracksuit bottoms) Shorts
Sports bra/ crop top
Layering top (vest, t-shirt)
Hoodie, zip up jacket to keep warm in savasana
However, the great thing is there are loads of amazing patterns, colours and textures to choose from. TIP: Be careful to wear appropriate clothing for the type of yoga you are taking!
Hot Yoga: Nothing too tight, something that when you sweat doesn't become see through and check that the fabrics can withstand heat!
Traditional studio: loose fitting clothes you can move in (that goes for both hot and traditional)
BUT MOST OF ALL...YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN!
I love brands such as Sweaty Betty and Lululemon... every season I wait in anticipation to see the pattern leggings!! :) small things make me happy.
But most of us can't really afford to splash the cash all the time. So see below other tried and tested shops on the high street that are affordable and fashionable (but also last).
H&M- great gym wear, leggings, sports bras, tops etc. Wash up great just check your sizing found some things came up smaller than expected.
Primark- ALL HAIL the wonderful world of Primark. I have had pants I have worn for the past three years and they are still going strong.
Forever 21- It may surprise you but most of my stuff is from here. Leggings and crop tops that I have worn in the hot yoga rooms (and they took a pounding whilst in teacher training). They have washed up great and not faded. Total value for money... I got 5 items for £50! TIP: Best to look online as there is more choice of stock.
One for the internet Oysho (I love this site, not just for gym stuff) beautiful fashion forward gym wear and its affordable!
